the rules
__________________________________
000. Well, first, I'd like to give you a warm welcome to Thunder Plains. Now, below this nifty welcome, you'll find the rules that you have to follow. I know, it sucks, right? It's a bit of a shame, but we have rules everywhere, and they need to be followed—oh yeah—everywhere. So, without further ado, I give you the rules!
general
001. Now, like most sites, here at Thunder Plains, the number one rule is respect. This rule be numero uno. Got it? I think you'd probably anjoy being respected, and it makes you feel good to be respectful. Sure, there are some things that are just intolerable, but treat others as you wish to be treated. The breaking of this rule will result in harsh punishment—no smiley faces for a week! Ha ha. No, but you'll be warned. Remember that the punishment will always fit the crime.
002. If you're going to be away, for any period of time, let us know! We really don't want to delete your account, but we will, if an activity check is held and you're not there. This isn't so much a rule as it is a guideline, but be extra careful in that department, 'cause we really don't want to delete you.
003. Make sure to check the name claim and reservations, so we don't have a huge mishap with the whole 'OMG! DEY TOOK MAH NAME!' kind of arguments. So, please, please check the claims before making a character.
004. We're a site that has One account for all characters. Please do not create separate accounts as it can become confusing. Also, only create as many characters as you can keep active. We don't want inactive characters clogging up the boards. Don't make 20 characters if you can only play five. Sound fair?
005. Images may not stretch the page, or exceed 500 pixels in width. It's not very pretty if you have to scroll a bajillion times to the left just to finish reading something. If you stretch the page, you will get an offhand warning, and said image will be banned from the site until the width is fixed.
006. There shall be no IC posting in the OOC boards. Contrarily, there may be no fully OOC posts in an IC board. The breaking of this rule will result in an offhand warning and locking of the thread it was posted in. If you would like to have the thread re-opened, please PM the admin or a moderator.
007. Cursing is allowed IC and OOC but it is expected to be kept at a minimum. If there is too much frequent use, this privilege will be taken from you. It's not very effective writing to have a cuss as every other word.
008. Drama is not welcome in this site OOC. Keep your nasty thoughts to yourself or take it to a staff member if it's really bothering you. We do not want to deal with your problems, it is unpleasant for us.
009. SPELLING, PUNCTUATION, GRAMMAR. These three things are essential to a good post, so please keep that in mind. It's hard for us to decipher a whole paragraph of continuous writing. Please use periods, commas, capital letters etc.
role playing
001. We have a 50 word count. If you continue to not reach this limit, which isn't a high limit nor hard to aim to, you will be banned for a number of days and maybe permanently if you continue. If you write one sentence, it'll be hard for the next person to reply. It gives them little to work off.
002. Power playing is a big no-no in the role playing world. It is allowed on this site only if you play a character that is a Monarch for fighting and force-breeding. When fighting, the monarch has a pretty large advantage over his opponent, for a Monarch is the only one whom can say when attacks connect and when they do not. Even then you should not take complete control of another persons character as that is unfair. Please don't do it. You will be asked to edit your post.
003. Before you can play your characters, please, please, please, wait for it to be accepted. We staff members don't take long to do so, there is almost always somebody online. Just hang on, okay?
004. To become a Monarch you must be a Stud whom is three (3) years of age or older. You must claim the land with a new thread with the format of: "I, Horse's Name Here, Hereby Claim This Land". The claim has to be accepted by a staff member before it can officially be yours though.
005. Officially, there is no limit to the number of characters you can make. But, please keep it reasonable. One can not play 50 horses at a time, keep it to a manageable number and make sure that each one is active.
006. If a mare travels onto claimed land of a monarch, that monarch has every right to use force to claim her and make her his if she is not willing. It is within his every right.
007. All horses must be realistic. No unicorns, pegasuses, or any of the sort. The horse must be of realistic colour, markings, and breed. We do not want 24 HH, green unicorns running around Thunder plains. Not cool guys.
008. Monarch characters must keep a list of the horses residing in their lands, as well as their ranks. This can be posted in the monarch's lands and must be updated every time a new horse joins the herd.
breeding
001. Force breeding is allowed on this site. A mare cannot argue with a stallion when this occurs, but they may try to repel the advances. When the stallion gets the upper hand though, she must comply.
002. Monarch's are the only ones who can breed their herd unless he has given permission to another stallion. Breeding behind a monarch's back is seen as a sin, and the stallion will be seen as a traitor. The monarch will often exile the stallion, and the mare or at least her offspring if he feels the need to.
003. Monarch's may go to any land that is not claimed and force breed mares. When the land is claimed though, it is seen as invasion. This could start a deadly duel, which you probably do not want to occur unless your character has a death wish.
004. Within a breeding post, a stallion may mount and dismount within the same one. He may prolong it for another post, but you are allowed to write it in one post. A mare cannot pull away from a breeding.
005. Description. We like description. But please, keep it to a minimum with breeding and fighting posts. We do not want to offend and if they get too out of hand, Proboards will get involved because a majority of members are not over 17. Please just keep this in mind.
006. Monarch's are able to dictate who and who can't breed within his herd. If he declares a certain stallion not to breed with any mare, they cannot for any time under his rule. Same goes with a mare. If he does not believe she will throw good foals, he can choose not to breed with her. Selective breeding so that the best blood-lines can form.
