they call me Vanishing Light, or just Vanish, if you will and I've been around for 5 years I'm a Mare, and my bloodlines are those of an Thoroughbred. I stand 15.2 hh, and I'm Dark Chocolate Palomino in color. my eyes are Dark Brown, and I'm marked with Star and a stripe on my face I was born with no deformities
PERSONALITY Vanish is a deadly girl, but not a cruel one. Unlike most members of the order, she has never had an illusions about what she does; she's a killer, a murderer, and she's fine with that. Not because she enjoys killing, but because she understands innately that everyone dies, and it doesn't truly matter when or how. Killing her marks makes room in the world for new life, just as a forest fire allows room for new growth. She takes her duty very seriously, and she's good. She's not the strongest, the smartest, or the fastest, but she IS among the fastest, and her instincts are good. She enjoys the thrill of the chase, of outmanoeuvring and outsmarting her opponent. She doesn't have much of a sense of humor; not because she's stiff and serious, but because social interaction generally astounds her and she doesn't quite understand any of it. Vanish is loyal to a fault and unfailing in her beliefs.
HISTORY Born and raised in a mountain herd, Vanish has always been tough and hardy; she was born with an innate understanding of life and death, and the importance of both. For this reason, it was widely presumed that when she reached her age of majority at two years old, she would be chosen for the sacred order. She was prepared from a young age by the members of the tribe, put through tests and exercises on a daily basis to ready her for the gruelling training of the order. She did well, though not as well as many had hoped; she was never better than the best of the herd, which was made up of those horses not found worthy of the order.
When she reached her majority, the herd waited expectantly for the order to come for her, but, alas, they never did. It was bewildering; surely her obvious averageness was balanced by her understanding of life itself? Surely her acceptance of Death and his necessity was precisely what the order desired in an acolyte? Losing her life's purpose broke Vanish's heart, but she was strong, a mountain mare, and she pushed on with her life. She fell into the drab, hard life of a mountain horse, her only purpose being to guard the secret of the order, and produce new members for it. The idea of choosing a mate was... detestable to her, but it was her duty, and she meant to do it.
But on only months after her rejection, a remarkable and joyous thing happened. Reyne, one of the greatest members of the order ever known, came back to visit the herd. It was a source of great excitement, and to her pleasure, Vanish had the honor of speaking to him herself, if only for a few brief minutes. Those minutes however, became the most crucial point in her entire life, when weeks later, Reyne returned, and proclaimed that Vanish would be his own trainee. She returned with him to the hidden home of the order, and thus began her training.
It was shortly after her training was complete that Reyne fled from the order, and Vanish found herself facing excommunication. Reyne was believed to have gone mad, and therefore, his choice to train Vanish was brought into question. She was required to prove herself, she was told, and she swore she would. So, she was sent to kill Reyne.
