Personality: Roland is a true gentleman. He upholds females, learning from them as they learn from him. Always faithful to his mares, he protect those that need it and allows them to do as they need. Never forceful unless he needs to be, he doesn't use his massive size to bully the mares that are under his protection. However, if you aren't part of his herd, then he will do everything in his power to protect his home and mares. He tolerates other stallions, as long as they understand that while in his land, he is King. Kind hearted and courteous, he is a benevolent leader.
Not really big on small talk, he tends to be quiet, letting the mares do all the talking, at least until he has something to say. When he does have something to say, he will simply say it, then return to being silent. If there is an argument, whether between mares or himself and other stallions or mares, he will lift his voice, though it is rare. For a horse his size, he is really a giant softy. When surrounded by foals, watch out, he will kick up his hooves and dance with the foals. His mother holds a very large soft spot in his heart, but no other mare has really stood out to him, so he doesn't have a mate. Any mare that does one day catch his eye will always be well taken care of.
History: Roland's tale is a little better than his dam's. He was the product of actual love, well as much love as his dam could give a stallion besides himself. His sire, Vrake, and his dam, Kismet, could have made one happy family, but Vrake passed away after a younger stallion challenged him and mortally wounded. He did get to meet his sire, if just for a little while, and found his sire to be a good stallion. Kismet also told him many times afterwards that Vrake was a good stallion, much better than most that his mother had seen. After Vrake's death, the herd broke up and Kismet took Roland far from the other mares. They traveled for the first two years of Roland's life her rarely stayed still for more than a moon span.
Roland enjoyed traveling with his dam, in fact, a lot of his best memories are with his dam and the life he had traveling. He visited many lands, saw many things, some not as appealing as he had hoped. Most of these unappealing things were the stallions that constantly pursued his dam. He could never understand why the other stallions wouldn't take his dam's 'no' seriously, but then his dam would simply tell him that most stallions were never as they seemed upon first meeting. After a little while, she stopped going so close to herds and eventually stopped going near them at all. Yet, as he approached his third year of life, he found that he wanted to settle down. With his dam's blessing, Roland set out to claim a land and once he had, his mother promised to come back and visit from time to time. Time had passed, not much, but enough to show Roland that he made the right decision in life.
